United States Earns Three Medals to Close 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic

The United States captured three medals on Saturday night to close the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts. Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won gold and Eva Pate and Logan Bye earned bronze in ice dance, while Gabriella Izzo grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s competition at the Skating Club of Boston. In total, the United States collected five medals at the event.

The United States earned three bronze medals this weekend at Challenger Series and Junior Grand Prix (JGP) Series events. At the 2021 Autumn Classic International in Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada, Caroline Green and Michael Parsons, as well as Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc captured bronze medals in ice dance and pairs, respectively. Meanwhile Angela Ling and Caleb Wein grabbed ice dance bronze at the Junior Grand Prix event in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

United States Hosts 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic this Week in Norwood, Mass.

The United States hosts the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic this week at the Skating Club of Boston facility in Norwood, Massachusetts, Sept. 15-19, 2021. The event returns after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. This is the first time the event will be held in Norwood. Fourteen U.S. skaters, headlined by three-time U.S. champions Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, will compete on home ice for a spot on the podium.

Sixteen Team USA athletes will travel to Junior Grand Prix and Challenger Series events this week. The Challenger Series continues this weekend with the 2021 Autumn Classic International in Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada, while the 2021 International Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (JGP) Series continues in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Additionally, 14 U.S. athletes will compete at the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts.
