The application process for 2020-21 Community Development Grants is now open. Community Development Grants were established in 2010 with the purpose of providing funding to eligible member clubs and Learn to Skate USA programs throughout the United States to develop community-based programs and events that will attract, involve and inspire new generations of figure skaters.
The United States earned two medals on Friday night at the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts. Jimmy Ma earned the silver medal while Eric Sjoberg grabbed the bronze in the men’s free skate at the Skating Club of Boston facility. In ice dance, three-time World medalists Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue lead after the rhythm dance.

Though American skating organizations existed informally in decades earlier, USFSA and its seven charter clubs were officially recognized on April 4, 1921, in New York City. The United States hosts the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic this week at the Skating Club of Boston facility in Norwood, Massachusetts, Sept. 15-19, 2021. The event returns after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. This is the first time the event will be held in Norwood. Fourteen U.S. skaters, headlined by three-time U.S. champions Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, will compete on home ice for a spot on the podium.
Nine teams were awarded theatrical skating titles at 2024 National Theatre on Ice this past weekend in Evansville, Indiana, with Harmony Theatre Company of Michigan securing their seventh senior title. The Skating Club of Boston also took home gold in three divisions - junior, novice and intermediate while the Space Coast Hurricanes won gold in the juvenile and open categories.
The United States captured three medals on Saturday night to close the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts. Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won gold and Eva Pate and Logan Bye earned bronze in ice dance, while Gabriella Izzo grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s competition at the Skating Club of Boston. In total, the United States collected five medals at the event.
