U.S. Figure Skating today announced the newly appointed Coaches Council. The new council will act as a wealth of knowledge for all U.S. Figure Skating coaches as well as serve as an advisory group and partner with appropriate U.S. Figure Skating staff departments to deliver coach certification, development and education for all U.S. Figure Skating programs.
This addition comes as U.S. Figure Skating previously announced the addition of a coaches’ development, education and certification program which will be required of all coaches who wish to participate in sanctioned events that will launch in July 2024.
The Coaches Council consists of 27 coach members – including a chair, a leadership team of vice chairs and athlete representatives – which reflect the broad experiences of the coaching community within U.S. Figure Skating.
