THIRTEEN TEAM USA ATHLETES TO COMPETE AT BAVARIAN OPEN AND MENTOR TORUN CUP

Thirteen junior and novice athletes will compete at Bavarian Open and Mentor Torun Cup this week.

Bavarian Open will take place from Jan. 26-31 in Oberstdorf, Germany, and Mentor Torun Cup is in Torun, Poland, from Jan. 30-Feb. 4.

At Bavarian Open, Pooja Kalyan will make her junior international debut after finishing second in the junior ladies competition at the 2018 U.S. Championships earlier this month.

In the pairs field, 2018 U.S. junior bronze medalists Laiken Lockley and Keenan Prochnow will represent the United States.

Two U.S. ice dance teams will compete internationally for the first time at the novice level in Germany. Caroline Liu and Kenan Slevira and Oona Brown and Gage Brown competed at the 2018 U.S. Championships most recently, finishing third and fifth respectively in the novice competition.

Mentor Torun Cup will mark the pairs team of Nadine Wang and Spencer Howe’s first junior international appearance. They finished fourth in the junior pairs event at U.S. Championships this year.

2018 U.S. novice ice dance champions Katarina Wolfkostin and Howard Zhao and 2018 U.S. novice pewter medalists Elizabeth Tkachenko and Alexei Kiliakov will also compete on behalf of the United States for the first time internationally in Poland.
