The international synchro season kicked off this week at the Hevelius Cup in Gdansk, Poland, where Team USA sent two teams to compete in the junior competition.
Teams Elite captured the bronze medal with 169.74 total points. In their short program to music by Ouiji, the Illinois-based team opened with a Level 4 element and earned 57.88 points. Their Missy Elliott free skate featured five Level 4 elements and all positive grades of execution, helping them score 111.86 points.
This is the second Challenger Series medal for Teams Elite. They earned silver at the 2020 Spring Cup.
The Lexettes finished in fourth with 149.86 total points. The Boston-based team earned 51.83 points in their short program to "Raganu Nakts" by Tautumeitas, which ended with a Level 4 no-hold element. Their free skate set to "Rescue Me" by Lauren Daigle earned 100.43 points and featured five Level 4 elements.
Russia's Crystal Ice Junior earned the gold medal in Poland with 201.87 points. Finland's Valley Bay Synchro Junior captured the silver medal with 180.72 total points.
