Team USA Grabs Two Bronze Medals at Leon Lurje Trophy

The Haydenettes finished their second international competition of the season with a bronze medal in the senior competition at the Leon Lurje Trophy in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Jan. 26-27.

The Haydenettes medaled for the second year in a row at Leon Lurje Trophy. They finished first last year.  

Sitting in fourth after the short program, the Haydenettes scored 138.76 points in the free skate to boost their score to 213.81 overall and rise to third. Their program received all positive Grades of Execution as well as two Level 4 elements. 

In their first international competition of the season, Miami University posted a score of 185.19 points to finish fifth overall in the senior competition. They placed fifth after both programs. They finished third at the Leon Lurje Trophy last year.

Team USA also grabbed the bronze in the junior competition. The Starlights were fourth after the short program but achieved positive Grades of Execution on every element including two Level 4s to score 180.04 overall points.

The Lexettes finished fifth in the junior competition with 168.00 points. They were fifth in the short program and free skate as well. They finished second last year. 

Team USA will travel to Rouen, France, to compete in the French Cup on Feb. 1-3.
