Team USA Earns Two Medals in Milan

The Americans picked up two medals this week at Spring Cup in Milan, Italy. In the junior division, Teams Elite earned the silver medal while the Lexettes took home the bronze medal.

In the junior division, Teams Elite earned the silver medal while the Lexettes took home the bronze medal. The silver medal is the first of the season for Teams Elite, while the bronze medal caps a two-medal international season for the Lexettes. The Massachusetts-based team won the silver medal in Zagreb earlier this season.

Teams Elite earned 184.73 total points, finishing second place in both segments. It is the second international medal in team history for the Illinois-based team. The Lexettes, which earned 175.20 points, finished third in both segments. The Lexettes earned positive GOEs on all elements in both programs.

In the senior division, the Skyliners and Crystallettes finished fifth and sixth, respectively. The Skyliners scored a season’s best free skate with 142.03 points to finish the segment 6th. The Crystallettes improved on their eighth-place finish at the Leon Lurje Trophy earlier this season.

All four teams will compete at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, set for Feb. 26-29, 2020 in Providence, Rhode Island.
