Ryan Dunk was in fourth place after the short program, landing four triple jumps, including a triple Axel, in his 68.45-point performance. The 2018 U.S. junior pewter medalist scored 126.85 in the free skate and was awarded three Level four spins with seven triple jumps. With 195.30 total points, Dunk finished in fifth place, his top JGP finish and the best finish for Team USA at the event. Nicholas Hsieh finished 12th in the men’s competition with 151.66 total points. He scored 54.16 points in his short program and 97.50 in his free skate.
In the ladies competition, 2018 U.S. junior pewter medalist Hanna Harrell finished in seventh place. Harrell was in the eighth spot after the short program and placed sixth in the free skate, completing two Level 4 spins and eight triple jumps. The Plano, Texas native scored 104.80 in her free skate for 157.08 points overall.
Both U.S. ice dance teams finished in the top-10 with Emma Gunter and Caleb Wein placing seventh and Oona and Gage Brown finishing eighth.
Gunter and Wein had positive Grades of Execution through their rhythm and free dances, scoring 134.86 total points. The couple finished seventh in both performances and secured a total of four Level 4 elements.
The Browns were in sixth place after the rhythm dance but stumbled on their twizzles in the free dance to finish ninth in the segment. The sibling duo had a final score of 133.83, narrowly behind their fellow Americans.
With the close of the JGP Series, the U.S. has five confirmed tickets to the JGP Final in December. In the men’s competition, Camden Pulkinen, Tomoki Hiwatashi and Andrew Torgashev will skate for Team USA. Sarah Feng and TJ Nyman will compete in the pairs competition, and Avonley Nguyen and Vadym Kolesnik will perform in the ice dance event. Additionally, Laiken Lockley and Keenan Prochnow secured the first pairs alternate spot.
