SKYLINERS WIN SILVER AT WORLD JUNIOR SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Skyliners junior team made history with a silver medal as the 2018 World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships concluded Saturday in Zagreb, Croatia.

In second place after the short program, the Monsey, New York-based Skyliners maintained their standing to win the silver medal and earn the highest-ever U.S. finish at this event. Their "Black Swan" free skate was highlighted by seven elements performed with impressive musicality, without a single negative Grade of Execution across the board. Their segment score of 104.67 vaulted the reigning U.S. junior synchronized champions to an overall total of 169.82 points.

The Lexettes of Lexington/Marlborough, Massachusetts, competed as USA 2, finishing their sixth World Junior appearance in sixth place overall. Performing their free skate to music from the La La Land soundtrack, the reigning U.S. junior synchronized silver medalists earned 92.41 points for their elements in the final segment, en route to a total score of 148.36.
