Team USA will send four teams to Goteborg, Sweden, to compete at Leon Lurje Trophy 2020. The event is scheduled for Jan. 24-25 and is the second event in the debut season of the Challenger Series Synchronized Skating.

In the senior competition, the Crystallettes will make their international season debut in Sweden. Last year, the Michigan-based team picked up medals at both of their international assignments at Trophy D’Ecosse (silver) and Spring Cup (bronze). They last competed at Leon Lurje in 2013 where they finished fifth. Miami University joins the Crystallettes in the senior division, making their first international appearance of the season. The Red Hawks squad returns to Sweden after finishing fifth in 2019 and earning the bronze medal in 2018.

The U.S. will also send two teams to Leon Lurje in the junior division. The Starlights return to international ice after finishing second at Britannia Cup earlier this month. The event is their third and final stop on this year’s international circuit as the team looks to defend their bronze medal from 2019. The Fond du Lac Blades will make their first appearance at the event in Sweden. Last season, the Wisconsin-based team finished third at Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy.
