ISU CHALLENGER SERIES CONTINUES WITH TALLINN TROPHY

Nine U.S. athletes will compete at 2018 Tallinn Trophy, the ninth and penultimate event of the 2018 International Skating Union (ISU) Challenger Series, Nov. 26 – Dec. 2, in Tallinn, Estonia.

In the ladies competition, 2017 U.S. champion Karen Chen will make her first appearance of the season after suffering a foot injury earlier this year. Ting Cui will make her senior international debut in Estonia.

Olympian Vincent Zhou will represent the United States in the men’s field. Zhou finished just off the podium at NHK Trophy earlier this month.

Tarah Kayne and Danny O’Shea, and Jessica Calalang and Brian Johnson will compete in the pairs competition. Kayne and O’Shea, who this season relocated to Colorado Springs to train, captured the silver medal at Internationaux de France last week. Calalang and Johnson return to Challenger Series ice after making their debut as a pair at Autumn Classic International where they finished fourth.

U.S. junior ice dance champions Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko will make their third Challenger Series appearance of the season, earning the silver medal at U.S. International Classic and the bronze at Nebelhorn Trophy. The duo recently won their first Grand Prix medal at Rostelecom Cup.
