The Skate America ice dance champions completed four elements with over 2.00 Grades of Execution, scoring a season-high 80.49 points. They were also awarded a set of Level 4 twizzles and a Level 4 lift in their “Alevare” performance. Hubbell and Donohue have won every rhythm dance event they have competed in so far this season.
Russia’s Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, and Spain’s Olivia Smart and Adrian Diaz rounded out the top three in second (74.66) and third (72.35), respectively.
In the ladies competition, Starr Andrews had a season-best short program, scoring 64.77 points in her second-career Grand Prix appearance. She secured all positive grades of execution to finish fourth in the short. Mariah Bell was just behind Andrews in fifth place, scoring 63.35 in her "To Love You More" short program.
Russia’s Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took the top spot with 74.22 points, while Japanese skaters took the next two spots with Wakaba Higuchi in second (66.51) and Mako Yamashita in third (66.30) after the short program.
Representing the U.S. in the men’s competition, Jason Brown fell on his triple Axel to place 11th in the short program with 76.46 points. His performance received the second highest program components score of the field with 42.96 points.
Canada’s Keegan Messing is in first after the short program (95.05), Shoma Uno of Japan sits in second (88.87) and the Republic of Korea’s Junhwan Cha is in third (88.86).
In the pairs competition, Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier had two falls in the short program, finishing in eighth place with 55.31 points.
French skaters Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres lead the pairs field (74.51), followed by China’s Cheng Peng and Yang Jin in second (72.00), and Canada’s Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro in third (71.26).
