Governing Council Set For This Week

The 2022 Governing Council is set to take place this week in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It will be the first in-person annual meeting of delegates since 2019.

This week’s 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Governing Council Annual Meeting will take place this week at the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This will be the first year since 2019 that Governing Council will take place in-person.

The event will lead off on Wednesday, April 27, with a Club Education Seminar beginning at 2 p.m. MT. On Thursday, April 28, seminars at the Antlers Hotel include leadership development, programming and information on U.S. Figure Skating’s strategic plan. At 3:30 p.m. MT, attendees can attend a DEI workshop to learn more about U.S. Figure Skating’s efforts in the diversity, equity and inclusion field. 

The Sectional meetings will be held Friday, April 29, as vice presidents lead delegates in discussion regarding critical issues. U.S. Figure Skating President Anne Cammett will preside over the full Governing Council beginning at 1:30 p.m. MT Friday and continuing at 8 a.m. MT Saturday.

There will also be a recognition of 50-year official and club honorees, including those celebrating their milestones in 2020 and 2021. As part of U.S. Figure Skating’s centennial celebration, the seven charter clubs will also receive a special recognition. Governing Council will conclude with a Centennial Reception at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum at 5 p.m. MT.
