BOSTON UNIVERSITY WINS SECOND-STRAIGHT U.S. INTERCOLLEGIATE FIGURE SKATING TITLE

Boston University won its second-straight title Sunday as the 2018 U.S. Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championships concluded at Magness Arena in Denver, Colorado.

Skaters earned points for their teams based on individual placements in short program, free skate, solo dance and team maneuvers events at the pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-juvenile, juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels. Boston University won its fourth-career intercollegiate title with 111 cumulative points, followed by the University of Delaware and Adrian College, who won silver and bronze with 98 and 91 points, respectively.

Now in its 18th season, the U.S. Intercollegiate Championships is the culmination of the intercollegiate competition series, in which college students participated in conference competitions in their respective sections (Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast). This season, three competitions were held in each section with more than 100 teams participating. The top four teams from each section qualified to compete in this weekend's championships.
