Hosted by the Yarmouth Skating Club, the event is the culmination of the 2018 National Solo Dance Competition Series and will run from Friday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 16.
The finals will feature skaters from the Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast sections with 223 athletes scheduled to perform. Skaters will compete in solo pattern dance event at all levels, and in the combined and shadow dance events at the juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels.
For the eighth year, solo dance skaters qualified to compete in the finals by participating in other competitions within the series. The 2018 National Solo Dance Series began in February and concluded in August. This year’s series included a combined event, comprised of a solo free dance and solo pattern dances, solo pattern dance and a shadow dance event. More than 450 skaters competed in 29 events across the country this season.
