The following four competitions took place in the last two weeks:

Highlights from the last two weeks include:

  • At 2022 Skate Detroit, Maryn Pierce’s Level 4 step sequence stood out as she fully utilized her body to emote to the music and highlighted the musical nuances. As a result, she earned +2 to +4 GOEs for the element. Pierce went on to win the senior women’s event with a score of 162.12.
  • Competing in the novice women’s event at 2022 Skate Detroit, Gabby Richards enhanced her performance and achieved a Level 4 and +2 to +4 GOE scores for her layback spin, clearly demonstrating an increase of speed with each change of position.
  • At the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships, Grace and Luke Fischer brought the energy and excitement to their 90s-themed free dance in the intermediate competition. They won the free dance to take second overall in the intermediate competition.
  • Also competing in Lake Placid, the junior competition saw a performance from Olivia Ilin and Dylan Cain themed to Grease, reminding everyone in attendance of their favorite movie dance off.
  • It’s great when you have a great day, but it’s even better when you and your sister both have outstanding performances! Sisters Nicole Park and Cleo Park both competed at the Glacier Falls Summer Classic in the senior and novice women’s events, respectively. Cleo earned the gold medal and said that her older sister is her inspiration to keep working hard in skating to achieve her goals!
  • The intermediate men’s competition was a close call at the 2022 DuPage open as just 0.03 points separated Zenith Chen and Alek Tankovic in the free skate. Chen went on to win with a score of 98.73.
