Koko Hirano captured her second consecutive title in the senior Parade of Champions at 2025 National Showcase last week in Rochester, Michigan.
Natallia Anisimava secured wins in both the junior and theme Parades of Champions.
First time gold medalists Piercyn Hunt and Mia Rose Keshmir were victorious in the adult and founders categories, respectively, while Rossiter and Soles secured the top step of the podium in the duet-trio event.
This year, the host club, Ice House Skating Academy, produced the most medals of any team, securing seven medals across the six Parades of Champions. Skaters representing All Year Figure Skating Club earned six Parade of Champions medals.
All competitors were judged based on three program components: artistic appeal, performance and skating skills.
Senior Parade of Champions
Koko Hirano (All Year FSC) scored a perfect 60.00 points to claim her second consecutive gold by a margin of 2.48 points in the senior Parade of Champions. Her skate to “Clair de Lune” scored 10.00 points on all three components (artistic appeal, performance and skating skills) , and she was the only skater to earn 10 points on each component.
Weyna Chen (Los Angeles FSC) clinched the silver medal with 57.52 points. With her vampire-themed skate to “No Redemption” by Gothic Storm scored over nine points on every program component with a program-high 9.82 points awarded for her performance.
Skating at her home club in Michigan, Ashlyn Olson (Ice House Skating Academy) secured bronze, marking her fifth consecutive podium finish in the senior event. Her of Thrones-inspired skate scored 8.82 points for her artistic appeal toward a final score of 52.43.
Skating to “Earth Song” by Jessie J, Mia Rocco (SC of Boston) took home the pewter medal with a score of 50.07.
Junior Parade of Champions
Natallia Anisimava (All Year FSC) stood on the junior podium for the fourth year in a row, this time claiming her first gold medal with a score of 48.71. Skating to music from the Puss in Boots franchise, Anisimava scored over eight points for her portrayal of the popular character in the artistic appeal and performance categories to claim the top spot by 5.77 points.
Emily Souza (Pawtucket & Providence FSC) skated to the silver medal. Her performance set to “Kaos 1” by Isabella Summers produced a score of 42.94 points with more than seven points being awarded for both artistic appeal and performance.
Roxy LaFerriere (Boise FSC) captured bronze with a score of 41.82 awarded for her for her skate to “Ease on Down the Road” from The Wiz.
Carson Kandas (Alaska Assoc. of Figure Skaters) rounded out the podium to secure pewter, finishing just 0.08 points behind LaFerriere with a score of 41.74 awarded for his performance to “Two Men in Love” by The Irrepressibles.
Founders Parade of Champions
Mia Rose Keshmir (All Year FSC) wowed judges and audiences alike with her performance to “Un Poco Loco” from Coco to capture gold in the founders Parade of Champions. Keshmir was the only skater to score over six points on every component, achieving a total score of 38.65.
Maise Ralabate (Ice House Skating Academy) delivered an emotional performance on home ice to “A Mother’s Prayer” by Celine Dion to capture the silver medal. Her skate received scores of 6.36 and 6.39 in artistic appeal and performance, respectively, toward an overall score of 37.47.
Carolina Jane Kovacevic (Bellingham FSC) skated as the beloved mermaid Ariel to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid en route to the bronze medal. She scored 6.36 points in both the artistic appeal and performance categories to finish with a total score of 37.25.
Carissa Lai’s (All Year FSC) pewter medal-winning skate to “The Brain” from Young Frankenstein produced a score of 35.95 points.
Adult Parade of Champions
This year’s podium featured three athletes representing Ice House Skating Academy: Piercyn Hunt, Ashlee Pantano and Paige Bartholomew.
After stepping away from National Showcase for nearly 10 years, Hunt (Ice House Skating Academy) – who previously won six senior Parade of Champions titles – returned to capture her first gold in the adult Parade of Champions event with 58.92 points. Skating to “She’s Like the Wind’ by Kesler, Hunt scored 10 points – a perfect score – for performance and 9.93 and 9.39 points for artistic appeal and skating skills, respectively.
Also no stranger to the podium at National Showcase, Pantano (Ice House Skating Academy) secured the silver medal and her fifth straight podium finish in the adult event. Skating to “My Evil Thoughts” by PayGotti, Pantano scored over nine points for each program component, including 9.61 points for performance. She received a score of 56.92.
Bartholomew (Ice House Skating Academy) clinched bronze with her comedic skate to “Master of the House” from Les Miserables which scored 47.72 points. She scored a program-high 8.25 points for performance.
Max Aydelott (All Year FSC) claimed the final step of the podium with a score of 45.70. Aydelott (and his puppet) skated to “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.
Duet-Trio Parade of Champions
Rossiter and Soles (Traverse City FSC) claimed gold with 50.28 points. Their emotional performance set to “Say Something” by A Great Big World” depicted the internal battle of losing yourself and trying to pull yourself out of it. The performance was set apart due to the fact that it was the only one to receive over eight points on more than two program components – of which they achieved on all three components.
The trio of Anna, Lexi and Paige (Ice House Skating Academy) captured the silver medal at their home club. Skating as the three blind mice to various comedic classical songs such as the “Can Can,” “The Beautiful Blue Danube” and “The Practice Session,” the trio’s performance scored 8.11 points for artistic appeal for a total score of 46.76.
Also representing the Ice House Skating Academy, the trio of Mikaela, Sam and Lilly tallied a score of 44.45 points to secure the bronze medal. Skating as the spooky Sanderson sisters to music from the movies Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2, they earned over seven points on two program components – artistic appeal and performance.
Cugno and Rapkine’s (FSC of Southern California) comedia performance to “Bottom’s Gonna Be on Top” from Something Rotten garnered 39.80 points to claim the pewter medal.
Theme Event Parade of Champions
In this year’s theme event, skaters performed to the music of Motown in honor of the event talking place near Detroit.
Winning her first of two titles at this year’s event, Natallia Anisimava (All Year FSC) stood on top of the podium with a score of 50.42. Skating to “Rock Lobster” by the B-52’s and music by Michael Jackson, she was the only skater in the event to score over 8 points on every program component.
Also claiming her second podium finish this year, Mia Rocco (SC of Boston) secured the silver medal. Her performance to “River Deep, Mountain High” by Celine Dion garnered 48.34 points, including 8.18 points for performance and 8.07 points for artistic appeal.
Gemma Soles (Traverse City FSC) finished with 43.93 points to capture the bronze medal. Her skate to “I Would Rather Go Blind” by Etta James was awarded 7.50 points for performance by the judges.
Finishing just 0.31 points behind Soles, Lettice Black (Broadmoor SC) claimed pewter, scoring 43.62 points for her skate to “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder and “Love Rollercoaster” by The Love Players.
