More than 400 adult skaters will travel to Cleveland, Ohio, to compete at the 2024 Prevagen U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships April 3-6.
Skaters between the ages of 21 and 85 will compete in 135 events across the four-day competition. Athletes will compete in singles, pairs, solo dance, partnered dance, emotional performance and lyrical pop/character/comedic events, in five different age groups (21-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65, 66+) and across three tracks (adults, masters and centennial).
U.S. titles will be on the line in the following 11 championship events, beginning on Thursday, April 4 and running through Saturday, April 6: adult gold women, adult gold men, adult silver women, adult silver men, adult solo dance, adult dance, masters pairs, masters junior-senior women, masters junior-senior men, masters intermediate-novice women and masters intermediate-novice men.
Four reigning champions will return to the competition this year aiming to defend their championship titles:
- Tyler Thames: adult silver men
- Michael Solonoski: masters junior-senior men
- Kristina Struthwolf-Leato: masters junior-senior women
- Grace Stuever: intermediate-novice women
Also competing are seven skaters who have competed at every U.S. Adult Championships since the event’s inception in 1995: Colleen Conroy, Julie Gidlow, Ted Gradman, Walter Horton, Thom Mullins, Angie Prevost and Dorothy Ray.
A tradition of the event, the Yvonne M. Dowlen Trophy will be awarded to this year's oldest competitor. The 2024 recipient is 82-year-old Robert Cormier.
This marks the first time the Adult Championships have been held in Cleveland. The Greater Cleveland Council of Figure Skating Clubs will serve as the host club.
