Events and Eligibility

This competition will be conducted in two portions: the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Championships, a U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competition, and the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Invitational, a nonqualifying competition. Participation requirements - including academic eligibility and events offered - are outlined below and listed in the competition announcement. 

U.S. COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

With modifications to the program requirements, the following events will be offered at the U.S. Collegiate Championships: 

  • Senior women and men combined
  • Junior women and men combined

To participate in this portion of the competition, skaters must meet the following requirements (see the announcement for full eligibility requirement details):

  • Have a current U.S. Figure Skating membership. 
  • Meet the eligibility requirements under Rule 2211. 
  • Skaters may enter an event at their test level or one level above, however, test requirements must be met as of the competition start date. 
  • Meet citizen and residency requirements stated in Rules 2230 - 2242. 
  • Be an undergraduate or degree seeking student at an accredited domestic college or university defined below and able to provide written verification of student status via Form A by July 1, 2024 (Rule 2213)
    • A full-time student as defined by your college/university in the upcoming fall semester/quarter in the year of the U.S. Collegiate Championships. 
    • A student recently admitted to a full-time college or university degree program for the upcoming fall semester. 
    • Graduated from your degree program between March 1 and July 31 of the year of the U.S. Collegiate Championships.

U.S. COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL

With some modifications to program and age eligibility requirements, the following events will be offered at the U.S. Collegiate Invitational: 

  • Short program (IJS) - juvenile, intermediate, novice
  • Excel free skate (6.0) - aspire 3, pre-preliminary, preliminary, preliminary plus
  • Excel free skate* (IJS) - juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior, senior
  • Solo pattern dance - preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze, pre-silver, silver, pre-gold, gold, international
  • Solo free dance - juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior, senior

*Pre-Juvenile Open Excel Free Skate has been discontinued as of January 1, 2024. Athletes who have previously competed in Pre-Juvenile are able to compete in Preliminary, Preliminary Plus, or Juvenile.

Athlete Registration

Both Step 1 and Step 2 must be completed by their respective deadline for your entry to be considered complete. No late entries will be accepted.

STEP 1: ONLINE REGISTRATION VIA EMS (DEADLINE: JUNE 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET)

Online registration is the only method for entry into the U.S. Collegiate Championships & Invitational. 

  • Go to www.usfsaonline.org
  • Enter you U.S. Figure Skating member number and password.
  • Click the blue EMS button.
  • Click "Competition Registration"
  • Go to the "Qualifying" tab.
  • Click "Register Now" under the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Championships & Invitational. 
  • Complete all steps as prompted on screen.
  • If you have any questions during the registration process, email MemberServices@usfigureskating.org.

STEP 2: FORM A: PROOF OF ENROLLMENT/STUDENT STATUS (DEADLINE: JULY 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET)

In addition to online event registration, participants must prove their academic eligibility. Competitors attending the U.S. Collegiate Championships are subject to Rule 2213 and those attending the U.S. Collegiate Invitational are subject to the parameters outlined in the event announcement.

  • Complete the top half of this form with your personal information.
  • Provide proof of student status either with an attachment or by having the bottom half of the form signed by your college registrar. Accepted forms of student status verification are outlined in the bottom half of this form. 
  • Return the form and any attachments via email to croberts@usfigureskating.org

Step 3: Submit Music and PPC (Deadline: July 12, 2024 at 11:59pm ET)

Online submission of music & planned program content (PPC) is the only method of submission for this event. These items must be submitted by the deadline indicated above.
