The International Skating Union today announced the athlete assignments for the 2025 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series with 48 skaters set to represent Team USA at the six international stops.
Traditionally the first event in the Grand Prix Series, 2025 Skate America will be the fifth of six stops this season, taking place Nov. 14-16 in Lake Placid, New York – the original location of Skate America in 1979.
Team USA will be led by three World champions who enter the season with their eyes on returning to the Olympic Games: reigning World titlist Alysa Liu in the women’s competition and three-time World gold medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates in the ice dance event. This year, Chock and Bates seek their fifth Skate America win, which would tie the record for most Skate America golds in ice dance with Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto.
Jason Brown, a two-time Olympian who has medaled in his last four appearances at Skate America, headlines the U.S. lineup in the men’s event while 2024 World Championships team members Valentina Plazas and Maximiliano Fernandez return to the ice in the pairs competition after missing last season due to injury.

The Grand Prix Series, which begins in October, incorporates six international figure skating competitions as a unified point-scoring series that awards prize money to eligible skaters. Athletes can compete at a maximum of two Grand Prix events and at the conclusion of the series, athletes' points are totaled based on their results with the top six women, men, pairs and ice dance teams eligible to compete at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2025, set for Dec. 4-7, in Nagoya, Japan.
Last year, Team USA secured 14 medals during the Grand Prix Series, including at least one in each discipline at Skate America.
The complete list of athlete selections for the 2025 Grand Prix Series is available on isu-skating.com. The lists of U.S. selections to all six Grand Prix events and international selections to Skate America are below.
