Team USA Sends 13 Athletes to Finlandia Trophy

ISU Grand Prix Series event marks fifth of six stops

A roster of 13 athletes will represent Team USA this weekend at Finlandia Trophy in Helsinki, Finland, Nov. 15-17, the fifth of six events in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

Three U.S. ice dance teams, two pairs teams and three singles skaters will compete inside the Helsinki Ice Hall.

The ice dance teams arrive having each competed at a Grand Prix Series event earlier this fall. Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik and siblings Oona Brown and Gage Brown claimed fifth and sixth place, respectively, at Skate Canada International. Newlyweds Eva Pate and Logan Bye finished ninth at Grand Prix de France. Each team has won a medal earlier this season at a Challenger Series event and is seeking to earn its first career Grand Prix medal.

In pairs, 2023 U.S. silver medalists Emily Chan and Spencer Howe look to improve upon their fifth-place finish at Skate Canada International, while 2024 World Junior bronze medalists Naomi Williams and Lachlan Lewer make their Grand Prix Series debut.
Reigning U.S. pewter medalist Sarah Everhardt placed fifth at Grand Prix de France in her Grand Prix debut in October after securing silver and gold at Lombardia Trophy and Cranberry Cup International, respectively.

Lindsay Thorngren competes for the second straight weekend after finishing ninth at last weekend's NHK Trophy. Thorngren won her first Grand Prix medal in 2023 at NHK Trophy.

Reigning U.S. bronze medalist Camden Pulkinen looks to rebound from his 11th-place finish at Grand Prix de France.

Competition begins Friday with the men's, women's and pairs short programs. The first medals of the weekend will be awarded Saturday following the men's and women's free skates. The rhythm dance also takes place Saturday. Competition concludes Sunday with the pairs free skate and the rhythm dance.

Watch every skater live on Peacock with all events available for 72 hours following their conclusion. Fans can also catch a recap show on NBC at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 17. Find the full broadcast schedule on usfigureskatingfanzone.com and the Peacock streaming schedule on peacocktv.com/skating.

The Grand Prix Series, which started in 1995, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Each athlete or team is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2024 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 5-8 in Grenoble, France.
