Ramsey Baker became Executive Director of U.S. Figure Skating on July 1, 2021, after previously serving as the organization’s Senior Director, Marketing and Communications (2005-2013) and Chief Marketing Officer (2013-2021). In his role as Executive Director, Baker is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of U.S. Figure Skating.

As U.S. Figure Skating’s Chief Marketing Officer, Baker oversaw U.S. Figure Skating’s relationships with its corporate partners generating exponential growth during his tenure. He also played an important role in the organization’s negotiation of media rights deals and the day-to-day relationship with NBC Universal and other media partners.

In 2018, he was one of the architects of U.S. Figure Skating’s eight-year extension with NBC Universal, which provides for increased exposure for the sport as well as contributes to the organization’s strong financial position.

Baker has also served as General Manager of Icenetwork, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Figure Skating, which holds the domestic broadcast rights to ISU figure skating and speed skating competitions. In this role, Baker helped to develop the organization’s relationship with MLB Advanced Media—the first relationship of its kind in the sports industry. MLB Advanced Media operated icenetwork.com until 2019.

An active leader in the Olympic movement, Baker has served on multiple United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) committees and working groups, most recently serving on a technology working group focused on the new USOPC Athlete Marketing Platform (AMP).

In addition to his media and marketing achievements, Baker was instrumental in the rebrand of U.S. Figure Skating’s Basic Skills Program as Learn to Skate USA, and has overseen many important U.S. Figure Skating initiatives, such as the documentary film RISE, which commemorated the tragic 1961 World Team plane crash and the organization’s multi-year brand and image campaign, Get Up.

Prior to joining U.S. Figure Skating, Baker was the Associate Athletic Director at his alma mater Union College (’93), where he oversaw marketing, promotions, season ticket sales, corporate sponsorship and event management. Baker also previously held the position of Director of Public Relations and Marketing and CEO of the Scholar-Athlete Games for the Institute for International Sport and Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at Jacksonville University (FL).

Baker earned his MBA from Georgia State University (’99) while working in the sports information and marketing departments at the University.

Baker and his wife, Denise, live in Colorado Springs and have two daughters, Madison and Olivia.
