2017 National Solo Dance Final this Week in Colorado Springs, Colorado

(9/6/17) - The 2017 National Solo Dance Final, hosted by the Broadmoor Skating Club, will take place Sept. 7-9 at the Broadmoor World Arena. In total, 214 athletes are scheduled to compete.

The National Solo Dance Final is the culmination of the 2017 National Solo Dance Competition Series. The event marks the seventh series final in which solo dance skaters qualify to compete by participating in competitions within the series.

The 2017 National Solo Dance Series began in February and concluded in August. This year's series included a combined event comprised of a solo free dance and solo pattern dances (or short dance at the junior and senior levels), solo pattern dance and a shadow dance event. More than 450 skaters competed in 43 events.

The 2017 Final will feature skaters from the Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast sections. Skaters will compete in solo pattern dance at the preliminary, pre-bronze, bronze, pre-silver, silver, pre-gold, gold and international levels, in the combined event at the juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels and in the shadow dance event at the juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels.
