2002 Olympic champion Sarah Hughes (Great Neck, N.Y./Skating Club of New York), leads the distinguished dozen honorees who have been selected for their achievements both as athletes and as scholars. During the 2002-03 competition season, Hughes combined excellence both on and off the ice, carrying a 3.9 GPA at Great Neck High School while training and competing for her eventual gold medal performance in Salt Lake City. The USFSA/Chevrolet Scholastic Honors Team is the latest in a number of distinctions for Hughes since the Olympics.
