(10/23/04) - Russian pairs skater Tatiana Totmianina was listed in good condition Saturday night, according to Beth Lawry, Mercy Hospital spokesperson, after Totmianina fell out of a lift during her free skate at 2004 Smart Ones Skate America in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Lawry said Totmianina was brought in to Mercy Hospital and assessed by Dr. Larry Jones, chief of trauma services at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

"She had the appropriate testing done and she's resting," Lawry said. "She was awake and oriented. We're listing her in good condition. She has been admitted overnight for observation."

Totmianina was injured Saturday night in a fall during her free skate with partner Maxim Marinin. The accident happened during an overhead lift about midway through their program.

An ambulance was on site at Mellon Arena with two emergency medical technicians (EMTs), as well as an attending physician and a physician's assistant in orthopedic trauma. The on-site medical team responded immediately and Totmianina was secured to a backboard. She was carried off the ice and stabilized in the medical room before being transferred to Mercy Hospital's level one trauma center.
