Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel
HOTELHotel rooms at the Renaissance are very limited, and we cannot guarantee that everyone who is accepted to the school will be able to get a room there. Also, unless you are attending U.S. Championships in another official capacity such as a trial judge, we will only be able to reserve a room for you until Tuesday, Jan. 7, (so you will need to check out by Tuesday). Each person who is accepted will receive an email with a link to request a hotel room; please do not contact the Renaissance directly.
SCHEDULEThe Technical Panel Committee of U.S. Figure Skating will be hosting Technical Panel Continuing Education Schools in singles, pairs, ice dance and data in conjunction with the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Boston, Mass. All schools will take place Sunday, Jan. 5, and Monday, Jan. 6.
The singles, pairs, dance and data schools will offer classroom sessions as well as time on actual IJS equipment rinkside during novice events. The schools for SINGLES and DATA OPERATORS will also offer testing for those already holding nonqualifying or regional appointments who have been approved to test for advancement. Testing will take place Monday night and Tuesday morning, Jan. 7. Space for all schools is very limited.
For a tentative agenda, click here.
WHO CAN ATTENDThe singles and data schools are open to technical panel officials already holding an appointment in the discipline in which they want to participate. Pairs and dance schools are open to anyone already holding any technical panel appointment who also meet the criteria to become a technical panel official in pairs or ice dance.
Those who attend will receive credit for one nonqualifying competition to be considered toward future advancement.
Space is very limited. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that applicants meet the stated requirements.
FEES/COSTSData Operators and Technical Specialists
You will not be asked to pay for the seminar until you are officially accepted to attend.
*Those who would like to attend more than one discipline may do so without having to pay a second fee; however, the schedules for the disciplines will overlap, so if you attend more than one, you will not be able to attend all sessions for each school.
**If you would like to attend any events on any other days, you will need to purchase tickets. For more information regarding the U.S. Championships, please visit www.boston2014.com.
Note: If you are a national official purchasing non-working officials tickets, unfortunately, we will NOT be able to offer you a discount for the school. Although attending the school gives you access to watch some events, the cost of the events are not actually factored into the fee to attend the school. Instead, the fee is used to offset the cost of moderator and administrative expenses.
HOW TO REGISTERApplications are due by Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 and must be completed online at
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by Nov. 27.
