Two Teams to Represent Team USA at 2014 World Synchronized Championships

(4/3/14) - Two U.S. synchronized skating teams will compete April 4-5 at the 2014 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Courmayeur, Italy. The Haydenettes, reigning U.S. champions, and the Crystallettes, the 2014 U.S. silver medalists, will represent the United States.

Competition begins Friday, April 5 with the short program at the Courmayeur Forum Sport Center and ends Saturday with the free skate. The field consists of 23 teams representing 18 countries.

The Haydenettes (Hayden Recreation Centre FSC/Lexington, Mass.) earned their 15th consecutive berth to the World Synchronized Championships by winning their 22nd U.S. title at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., in March. Last year, the Haydenettes earned their fourth-consecutive World bronze medal.

The Crystallettes (Dearborn FSC/Dearborn, Mich.) return to the World Synchronized Championships, having last competed at the event in 2012. They earned a spot on the World Team after finishing second at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Championships. This will be the team's fourth appearance at this event.
