2014 International Synchronized Skating Season Continues this Week with Spring Cup

(2/14/14) - Three U.S. synchronized skating teams are set to compete this week at 2014 Spring Cup in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy. The Starlights (Skokie Valley SC) will compete in the senior competition while the Hockettes (Ann Arbor FSC) and Team Braemar (Braemar City of Lakes FSC) will compete at the junior level. The event is set to take place Feb. 14-16, at the Palasesto.

The Starlights were fifth at this event in 2012. They finished seventh at the last two U.S. Synchronized Championships.

The Hockettes were 2011 Spring Cup bronze medalists. Most recently, the team finished fifth at the junior level at the 2013 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. Team Braemar, the current U.S. junior synchronized champions, were sixth at 2013 French Cup and last competed at Spring Cup in 2010, placing second.

All three teams are also set to compete at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Feb. 26-March 1, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
