2014 International Synchronized Skating Season Continues this Week with French Cup(1/31/14) - Four U.S. synchronized skating teams are set to compete this weekend at 2014 French Cup in Rouen, France. The Haydenettes and Crystallettes will compete in the senior competition while the Lexettes and Chicago Jazz will compete at the junior level. The event is set to take place Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
The Haydenettes (Lexington, Mass.) are current and 21-time U.S. synchronized champions and four-time World bronze medalists. They finished seventh at this event a season ago. The Crystallettes (Dearborn, Mich.) have recorded 10 straight top 3 finishes at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships and are the reigning bronze medalists.
Both the Lexettes and Chicago Jazz have earned Team USA's two spots at the 2014 Junior World Challenge Cup to be held in early March. Also training out of Lexington, the Lexettes have been U.S. junior bronze medalists consecutively since 2008. Chicago Jazz has finished fourth at the last four U.S. Synchronized Championships.
All four teams are also set to compete at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Feb. 26-March 1, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
