U.S. Figure Skating Unveils Publications App(1/22/13) - U.S. Figure Skating announced today the release of the U.S. Figure Skating Publications Application, which is now available for download. The App, developed by Quad/Graphics, will feature a comprehensive collection of digital publications including SKATING magazine, event programs, the U.S. Figure Skating rulebook, U.S. Figure Skating media guide and more.
The App, available for Apple devices through the Apple iTunes Store, on Android devices through the Google Play Store and on Kindle devices, is free to download. However, some publications will require a purchase, subscription or U.S. Figure Skating membership to access.
The official event program of the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, going on through Jan. 27 in Omaha, Neb., is available for $4.99. The past three months of SKATING magazine are available for free. Future issues of SKATING will be available for purchase.
This is the second App offered by U.S. Figure Skating. The first, the U.S. Figure Skating Skate Coach App Series, is available through the Apple iTunes Store. The Skate Coach series was launched in November 2011 and features teaching videos associated with U.S. Figure Skating's Basic Skills Program.
