U.S. Figure Skating to Host Three SkateFests

(11/1/12) - U.S. Figure Skating and Disson Skating are working with local skating clubs to host SkateFests in each of the four cities where a Disson Skating show will take place during the 2012-13 season. Free and open to the public, SkateFests provide the opportunity for skaters of all ages to participate in free group lessons based on their experience levels while meeting members of the show's cast. These events are a great way for families to experience skating for the first time and for current skaters to be inspired by the sport's legends.

The SkateFests are held on the rehearsal day during the week of the show. The SkateFest will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. Depending upon the specific event location and schedule, the SkateFest will include either two or three lesson slots and accommodate approximately 100 skaters per class time.

Participants will register on-site for the SkateFest on a first come, first served basis beginning at 3:45 p.m. on the day of each SkateFest. Registration and lesson spots will be limited to 100 skaters per class. Skaters will be placed in class groupings based upon their skating experience and skill level.

*Due to Hurricane Sandy, the SkateFest in Atlantic City has been postponed. U.S. Figure Skating is working on a new date for this event*
