U.S. Figure Skating Announces Dates, Locations of 2013 Athlete Development Camps
(10/09/12) - U.S. Figure Skating's Athlete Development Department & Athlete Development Committee announced today the details for its 2013 Athlete Development Camps. The series of figure skating camps are designed to enhance athletes' experiences in the sport, specific to their discipline and area of participation.The camps begin in the spring of 2013 and are held across the country. All camps have a limited capacity, and are first-come-first-served for the pool of athletes that meet eligibility criteria outlined below.
All curriculums are designed by U.S. Figure Skating and are taught in a team setting with faculty members selected for their abilities in a particular area of the sport.
The Synchronized Skating Training Festival & National Coaches College is the longest-running camp, first held in 2006. The National Program Components Camp, U.S. Figure Skating Dance Camp & DREAM (Determination, Responsibility, Education, Achievement and Motivation) Camps debuted in 2011, with the U.S. Figure Skating Pairs camp being added in June 2012.
Registration for the National Program Components Camp will open Dec. 1, 2012, with registration for the other camps scheduled to begin early next year.
