Meryl Davis and Charlie White Named USOC December 2009 Team of the Month

(1/21/10) - The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) announced today that ice dancers Meryl Davis & Charlie White have been voted the December 2009 Team of the Month.

The reigning U.S. ice dancing champions won the 2009 Rostelecom Cup and the 2009 NHK Trophy, qualifying them for the 2009 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Tokyo, Japan, Dec. 3-6, where they won the gold.

Davis and White are the longest-tenured U.S. ice dancing team, having been together since 1998. The 2009 Four Continents champions placed fourth at the 2009 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, missing the podium by just .04 points.

The team is at the 2010 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane, Wash., competing for a berth on the 2010 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team.

Davis and White are coached by Igor Shpilband and Marina Zoueva in Canton, Mich.
