(3/8/05) - U.S. pairs team Jennifer Don and Jonathon Hunt announced today the end of their partnership. They have each decided to take time away from figure skating to reevaluate their skating careers. Both are undecided if they will return to competitive skating. Hunt recently completed hip surgery and is currently undergoing rehab.

“I really enjoyed skating with Jonathon the last three seasons,” Don said. “I'd like to wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery from his surgery. I know that he is a very dedicated individual and will do well in whatever he chooses. I'd like to thank everyone who has supported us.”

Don is an honors college student at the University of Delaware and plans to continue working toward her degree. Hunt is looking into pursuing his college degree. Both Don and Hunt plan to continue coaching as well.

“We have had a good run for the last three years,” Hunt said. “But in the end our interests were best served by going separate ways. I am not sure if this way includes school or skating, but I will take some time to explore my options.”

Don and Hunt became partners in 2002. They most recently placed sixth at the 2005 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
