Theatrical Skating Festival
U.S. Figure Skating is proud to announce the 2012 Theatrical Skating Festival. The Theatrical Skating Festival is a training camp designed for Theatre on Ice, Theatrical, Showcase and Artistic skaters who compete in the National Theatre on Ice Competition, National Showcase, or artistic events in the season preceding the Festival, and plan to return to competition in the upcoming season. Athletes will be broken up into groups of 20-to-25 skaters and will participate in approximately four on ice classes and four off ice classes. The camp will end with each group performing a program they learn during camp in the closing exhibition.
The Theatrical Skating Festival will include a coaches track offering both on ice and off ice classes. Coaches will observe a range of levels and classes during on ice sessions. Off-ice sessions will include topics on props and scenery, stage presence and style, edge quality and skating skills, Artistry in Motion and team management among many others.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend, as there is a full parents education curriculum offered at no additional cost.2012 U.S. Figure Skating Theatrical Skating Festival
